WiFi Atalaya ("the app") is a read-only macOS console for Juniper Mist Wi-Fi environments. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. The short version: the app does not have its own servers, and it does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data to us or to any third party other than the Juniper Mist service you explicitly connect to.
To function, the app uses a Juniper Mist API token that you provide. Using that token, the app retrieves operational network data from Mist's API, which may include site and organization details, service-level metrics, access point health, SSID information, and client records such as MAC addresses, IP addresses, usernames, and device types. This information is displayed to you within the app so you can monitor and troubleshoot your own network.
The app communicates directly from your Mac to the Juniper Mist API. Your API token and the data it retrieves are not sent to the developer or to any other third-party server. The developer operates no backend service that receives your data.
Your Mist API token is stored locally on your device using the macOS Keychain. It is used only to authenticate your requests to the Juniper Mist API and is never transmitted anywhere other than to Mist.
To respect Mist's API rate limits, the app may temporarily cache responses locally on your device. This cached data remains on your Mac and is not transmitted off-device.
The app does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not build advertising profiles or track you across other apps or websites. Apple may provide the developer with aggregate, anonymized usage and crash data only if you have opted in to sharing analytics at the macOS system level; this data is controlled by Apple and does not personally identify you.
The app connects to the Juniper Mist service on your behalf. Your use of Mist is governed by Juniper's own privacy and data practices. Please refer to Juniper Networks' privacy documentation for details on how Mist handles data.
Because your data stays on your device, you remain in control of it. You can remove the stored API token and any cached data at any time by clearing it within the app or by removing the app from your Mac.
The app is intended for IT and networking professionals and is not directed to children under 13.
